About

Everyone deserves to be well.

That belief didn't come from a book. It came from a life that taught, sometimes gently and sometimes not, how much access matters.

The life that built this

They left a workforce that didn't work for them and built something better.

I tried the traditional workforce without benefits. It was too demanding as a young, single parent. Even a full-time newspaper job didn't provide healthcare I could afford. So I left corporate America and started my own business — giving me flexibility for my kids and access to healthcare for me and my eventual employees. It was very expensive in the beginning, but it was worth the freedom.

That business grew from just me to 42 associates, becoming the world's first Certified B Corporation. My third book — the second edition of The B Corp Handbook — guided global leaders toward more equitable and environmentally responsible practices. Through the success of my third and fourth best-selling, award-winning books, both editions of Subtle Acts of Exclusion, I knew there had to be a better way to get care to people who needed it. We are too wealthy a nation to leave so many people behind.

So I started Manifest Equity as a way to bring people the resources they need to thrive and help build healthy communities and workplaces. Education, wellness, and ethical business support are all available through our nonprofit mission of making wellness accessible.

Building a world where everyone has enough.
